So, remember that race I wanted to do in Boston but didn't? I received an email from the race director, and I guess the stars aligned for me after all. It just seemed I needed a "reframe" to precisely know how well they aligned. Doesn't sound like it would have been enjoyable. At. All.
Here's what his email said (I've underlined the parts that make me happy I didn't go):
"Well, it was a cold, wet morning, but we still managed to get in some good racing. The weather was not the only snafu presented to us on Sunday. When Boston Market didn't deliver the meals that we ordered, we had to scramble to find a pizza place that would deliver pizzas pronto. The toughest part was convincing the person at the pizza place that the order for 40 pizzas to be delivered right away in a torrential rain storm was not a hoax. Fortunately, the hot chocolate and coffee from Dunkin Donuts provided a little sustenance during the wait for lunch.
Quadmultisport, the official bicycle mechanic braved the elements providing support during the race, and their tent provided shelter for many shivering athletes throughout the day. Mind Body Connect helped many cold, tired athletes begin their recovery from the race by providing free post race massages..."
I love when things work out.
