I still think of my great-grandmother all the time. She was an amazing woman – graceful, feminine, lovely. With her I baked my very first cake. I still think she made the best peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. She built playhouses with me in her living room. She taught me the importance of family and Sunday dinner, and I loved how she always opened her home to half the town at Thanksgiving.
I wish she could have known my beautiful sisters. I wish there had been as many options for breast cancer treatment back then. I miss her like it was yesterday.
